Member Practices

The following practices make for strong members and disciples.  Consider setting these goals:

  • Pray daily
  • Read your Bible regularly
  • Attend Worship Regularly
  • Be involved in a small group to help spiritual growth and fellowship
  • Consider what it would be like to commit all your resources to God
  • Participate in “hands on” missions or service projects


The following list gives a brief description of some of our small groups.

Sunday School Classes for all ages are held at 9:45 each Sunday morning.

United Methodist Men meets at 6:30 am each Thursday for breakfast, a devotion and fellowship.

United Methodist Women have several circles that meet monthly through the school year.

  • Anna Ruth Circle meets the 3rd Thursdays at 9:15 am
  • Martha Group (a service group for funeral meals, etc.) meets as needed.

Disciple 1, facilitated by Rev. Kent Melcher, and Disciple 3, facilitated by Lisa Buffum, are offered beginning each fall.

Covenant is a 24-week in-depth group Bible study that is broken into three 8-week modules and facilitated by Pastor Rachelle Speer.

Wednesday Bible Study meets at 10:00 am on Wednesdays and is for women who want to study the Bible and learn about how it relates to their lives. This group is led by Jo Ann Tasker.

Come Wednesday Noon is offered and meets in the church library. The group studies a variety of books and topics, and is facilitated by Lois Cole.

Faithfully Fit Forever is a group for all ages that focuses on body, mind and spirit. FFF combines exercise and devotion and meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-10:30 am.

Girls Just Gotta Have Fun - and Faith!
A women's group, Girls Just Gotta Have Fun - and Faith, meets the second Saturday of the month from 9:00 - 10:00 am at the College Hill Coffee Shop. All women are welcome.

Senior Adult Fellowship meets for a meal and fellowship at noon on the third Saturday of the month from September through May.

Music groups are also a good way of participating in a small group fellowship.
